Rhine Driftwood Line
The works of Richard Long have been an integral part of the DKM Museum’s permanent collection since the institution opened in 2009. Now the museum will dedicate a solo exhibition to the artist, underscoring the artist’s position as an outstanding representative of land art. For more than 40 years, Long has consistently developed his work and carefully sustained his own unique vision. The key work in the exhibition is the eponymous installation Rhine Driftwood Line, for which Long collected driftwood from the last kilometer of the German Rhine in 2001, thus lending the work a significant regional reference. The work is completed by a substantial installation consisting of more wooden objects, text and photographs.
